Dr. Caitlin Goodwin is a doctorally prepared Certified Nurse-Midwife with over 20 years of experience in clinical practice, healthcare leadership, and evidence-based resource development. As a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (LSSBB), she combines clinical excellence with operational efficiency to improve healthcare delivery.

VIDM Experience
Having served as a facilitator in 2023 and 2024, and on the committee since 2025, I am dedicated to this 24-hour global labor of love. I believe that international collaboration is the key to shaping healthier futures for families worldwide.
The experience opened my eyes to the beauty of international connections. The energy, passion, and sense of the global midwifery community during VIDM are something truly special.
Professional Background and Focus
In my current role, I oversee the development of clinical content and evidence-based clinical guidelines. My work focuses on:
- Improving perinatal care equity & health literacy
- Empowering clinical practice in labor and birth settings.
- Developing global midwifery collaborations.
I’m passionate about making perinatal care equitable and empowering, and I believe strongly in the power of midwives to shape healthier futures for families and communities.
