VIDM 2021 :: Call for proposals now open!

The Virtual International Day of the Midwife celebrates the International Day of the Midwife by bringing together midwives, students, consumers and all parties interested in childbirth from across the globe using online electronic media.  A variety of live events are presented every hour for 24 hours across 4th/5th/6th May 2021 (depending on time zone) starting at 22:00 UTC on 5th May.  To check your local starting time, click HERE.

VIDM wants to hear from you! The call for proposals is now open for both presentations and online posters. What are you excited about in midwifery? What are your research interests? Share your ideas with the VIDM community. Both posters and presentations will have a dedicated Student Stream in 2021.

The theme for VIDM 2021 is ‘Birth Equity for All’. We strongly encourage considering this theme when submitting your proposal. Click HERE for more information.

Presentation proposals and poster submissions will be made via this website.  Click on the titles below for more information and submission forms.

Thank YOU from VIDM 2020!

The Virtual International Day of the Midwife 2020 conference has come to an end for another year. Midwives around the world socially gathered safely and securely online in this time of pandemic. Ideas were shared and friendships forged, and we suspect more than a few professional collaborations!

Explore the VIDM 2020 Posters — Outstanding!

Each year VIDM receives a number of outstanding posters which illustrate many aspects of midwifery practice and research around the globe. This year is no different. We have provided a separate category for Midwifery Students to showcase their work, many of which are interesting research as well.  Additionally, some of the poster presenters chose to be interviewed — Podcast interviews are found below their names on the presentation pages.

Please take some time to review this excellent work. Follow the links to the presentation pages.
