DEVORA PUMACAHUA AIRA
Midwifery student at the Faculty of Midwifery and Nursing of the San Martín de Porres University in Lima- Peru.
Born in the city of Lima in 2000. Devora decided to study midwifery because in her childhood her mother told her the sad story that all her births did not have the attention of a professional. In addition, she was curious to hear that some women did not know that they were pregnant until late in her pregnancy; she too had the opportunity to see some television programs where stories of pregnancies involving complications among others were told. This caught her attention and motivated her to seek information about her career and apply.
She is currently in her second year of studies and the discipline that has attracted her most attention is Epidemiology, especially in these times, since it allows her to observe and analyze changes in public health and the strategies that contribute to the prevention and control of the various health problems, by knowing the natural history of diseases, the infectious process, the epidemiological chain, among others.
Upon completing her studies, she wishes to provide all of her knowledge and skills to the community with quality, warmth, respect for sexual and reproductive rights, gender identity, and cultural diversity.
DIEGO JOSE RODRIGO HUAMANI RUIZ
Midwifery student at the Faculty of Midwifery and Nursing of the San Martín de Porres University in Lima- Peru.
Diego was born in 2003 in the constitutional province of Callao. He entered the university to study Midwifery, because since childhood he has had a vocation for service and a special inclination for health and providing care to the poorest people.
He is in his second year of studies and the discipline that has attracted his attention is “Human Sexuality”, a subject that is still taboo among adolescents and young people in our country and that it is necessary to approach from the integral perspective of health care, prevention of diseases and counseling that allows a healthy and risk-free sex life.
At the end of his professional training, his desire is to be able to work in the most remote areas that do not have professional personnel to serve the vulnerable population of the country. He has observed that the pandemic has shown the shortcomings of health institutions and especially health personnel trained to face this emergency, so at the end he wishes to do a specialty in sexual and reproductive health.
