Abstract:-

Background

Midwifery education in Nigeria is disadvantaged partly due to inadequate educational infrastructure and a lack of appropriately educated midwifery staff. The level of knowledge among Nigerian midwifery faculty members varies with many tutors having solid clinical backgrounds but little formal training in pedagogy, curriculum building, or educational research. There is an urgent need for training programs that give teachers a fundamental understanding of pedagogical principles and how to implement cutting-edge teaching techniques for better student learning outcomes.

 Aim

The study evaluates the viewpoints of Midwifery Faculty and Information Technology (IT) support staff in the train-the-trainer program organized to enhance and encourage their use of digital learning resources.

 Methods

A qualitative descriptive approach was adopted to examine the train-the-trainer workshop, developed to strengthen the digital teaching capacity of the participants. Evaluation focused on capturing a detailed account of the sessions and the experiences of participants.

 Results

Significant differences in past exposure to digital technologies, present use, and training expectations was observed in the pre-workshop surveys. The post-survey responses detailed their perceptions and experiences of the program revealed in four themes. The first theme highlighted improved participants' confidence and digital literacy. The second theme reported participants' commitment to training others. The third theme highlighted obstacles and practical difficulties related to sustainability, while the fourth theme captured participants opinion on the necessity of regular feedback and evaluation for tracking performance.
