Ophelia Serwah Tonto is a dedicated Advanced Midwife Specialist and women’s health advocate with a strong passion for improving the health and wellbeing of women across their lifespan. Having over 15years of working experience both in academia and clinical setting. With professional training in midwifery and practical experience in maternal and reproductive health services, she has developed expertise in antenatal care, postnatal care, newborn health, and community health education. Her work focuses on providing compassionate, evidence-based care while empowering women to make informed decisions about their reproductive health.

In addition to clinical practice, Ophelia is deeply committed to leadership in women’s health. She is passionate about strengthening health systems, supporting professional development among healthcare workers, and advocating for policies that improve maternal and newborn care. Her work often involves collaborating with health teams and stakeholders to improve service delivery and maternal health indicators.

Also interest in research her career has been enhanced by partnership with local and international midwifery experts. Research area include breastfeeding, digital technologies into education, normal birth and grieve sensitive care.

Ophelia’s long-term vision is to contribute to innovative, community-centered approaches that improve women’s health outcomes in Ghana and beyond. She aspires to continue developing her leadership capacity while advancing initiatives that promote equitable access to quality reproductive and maternal health services.
