Florence West

Florence West has been working as a healthcare professional since 1995. She has academic qualifications in Nursing, Midwifery, Public Health and Research.
Florence has worked internationally in five of the six WHO regions: Western Pacific (Australia, Papua New Guinea, Cambodia, Lao PDR), South-East Asia (Timor-Leste, Thailand, India, Nepal, North Korea/DPRK), Eastern Mediterranean (Lebanon, Sudan), European (United Kingdom, Turkey) and Africa (Ethiopia, Rwanda, Tanzania, Zambia, Namibia).


Florence uses her emergency public health response, health system strengthening and maternal and newborn health experience to support global organizations, national governments, Midwives’ Associations, Obstetrics and Gynecology Societies, non-government organizations and advocacy initiatives to improve health outcomes for women and newborns.


Florence lives in The Hague, Netherlands and speaks English, French and a little Dutch. In her spare time, she practices yoga, and enjoys spending time outdoors, exploring nature with her friends and family.
