JOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAoy Kemp is Global Professional Advisor with the Royal College of Midwives UK. She is a midwife, a midwife teacher and researcher and has many years’ experience in global health and international development. Joy has worked for the RCM for 4 years and is responsible for developing and delivering the RCM’s global programmes, developing resources for UK midwives with an interest in global health. Joy is married with a 17 year old daughter and a dog! Joy will be in Uganda in April and will have just returned prior to giving this presentation.

MaryMary Gorret Musoke is president of the Uganda Private Midwives Association and a practising midwife. She has her own community maternity clinic in a slum area on the outskirts of Kampala, Uganda, where she serves local women with high quality, respectful midwifery care. Mary previously worked in Mulago Hospital, Kampala, a large tertiary referral centre. Mary is also a national maternal and newborn health trainer. She is married with children and grandchildren. For the past five years the Uganda Private Midwives Association has been twinned with the Royal College of Midwives UK. Mary and Joy are individually twinned in this project and support each other in their various roles. Mary visited the UK in October 2016 with the MOMENTUM project.
