Vicki Penwell has been a midwife and midwife educator for over four decades. The organization she founded, Mercy In Action, has delivered almost 20,000 babies in birth centers where ICI is the guiding framework, and no one is turned away if pregnant. Vicki also oversees the US-based Mercy In Action College of Midwifery, where the ICI 12 steps of safe and respectful care are woven into the curriculum throughout all four years. Vicki is a lifelong learner with a Master’s degree in Midwifery, another Master’s degree in Intercultural Studies, and she just completed a Doctorate of Ministry in Creative Leadership. Vicki lives in Subic Bay, Philippines, and travels to teach all over the world.
