Tania is a proud pākehā woman who is on a life long journey of discovery about who she is as tangata Tiriti, and what is means in the context of health equity. She has been a midwife for 31 years, the last 16, as a midwifery academic and researcher. She is currently a Senior Lecturer and Creator and Programme Lead of the Master Clinical Practice Midwifery, at Te Wānanga Aronui o Tāmaki Makau Rau Auckland University of Technology. Her research interests and expertise include; Kawa Whakaruruhau and Cultural Safety, equity and improving maternity health outcomes, resisting racism in health, disaaster prepardeness and the scholarship of learning and teaching.
