Roisin has been working in Sligo as a registered advanced midwife practitioner since 2017 and a member of the midwifery team here since 2003. Roisin provides continuity of care for a caseload of women who would not meet the criteria for midwifery led care. The extended scope of practice at an advanced level enables her to provide an alternative care pathway for women within the midwifery philosophy of care giving. Before Sligo Roisin trained and worked in Scotland as a midwife for many years and she did her general nurse training in Dublin.
Roisin has a special interest in research and audit, aromatherapy, reflexology and postdates pregnancy treatments and she is also a IBCLC (lactation consultant).
