Roisin Lennon
I am a Registered Advanced Midwife Practitioner (RAMP) midwifery care working in Sligo University Hospital in the North West of Ireland. I provide continuity of care to a locally agreed caseload of women from booking to postnatal discharge. The caseload is comprised of a variety of medical conditions including thyroid problems, gestational diabetes on diet, anxiety and depression. I also care for women with a raised BMI and for women who have had a previous caesarean birth.
I trained as a general nurse in Dublin and trained and worked as a midwife in Scotland for 13 years. I have been in Sligo for 17 years and became a RAMP in 2017. I am passionate about midwifery. I enjoy being a part of so many people’s pregnancy journey and being able to furnish them with the information they require to make informed choices about their care, labour and birth and seeing them transition to parenthood whether it is the first time or the fifth time. I have a very privileged and rewarding job which I thoroughly enjoy.
Qualifications: Registered General Nurse, Registered Midwife, Registered Nurse Prescriber, BSc (hons) Nursing, Master of Health Sciences (Advanced Practice with prescribing), International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, Aromatherapist and Reflexologist.
