Paula Pelletier-Butler, DM, MS, LM/CPM (she/her)
Paula is a graduate of Thomas Jefferson University’s Doctorate of Midwifery program and Bastyr University’s MS in Midwifery program. Beginning with a background in nursing, she has been working within the women’s health and empowerment field since 1986. Her doctoral dissertation was on the global implementation of midwifery centers as an innovative maternity care solution.
After the births of her children, she knew she was headed towards midwifery and after many twists and turns and after a successful nursing/bodywork/educator career, she finally made it a reality. Her midwifery experience includes low and high-risk midwifery care in a variety of hospital settings, well-person/gyn care, and extensive experience in the community birth center setting.
Paula currently wear many hats, including as the owner/executive director and midwife at Flagstaff Birth and Women’s Center in the USA, Board Member and past Vice President for the American Association of Birth Centers (AABC), faculty at Bastyr University, President of High Country Lactation Center, Founder and President of Arizona Womxn’s Film Festival, and mother/wife/sister/friend. She loves cooking, live music, dancing, viewing art, hiking, and sunsets.
