Dr. Olajumoke Ojeleye is a nurse‑midwife, maternal mental health researcher, and certified perinatal mental health professional whose work bridges clinical practice, academic scholarship, and community‑engaged research. She is an Assistant Professor at the University of Central Florida College of Nursing, where she teaches across undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs and leads research focused on improving perinatal mental health and the well‑being of pregnant and parenting adolescents. Her work reflects a deep commitment to advancing equitable, culturally grounded mental health support for vulnerable perinatal populations.

Before joining UCF, Dr. Ojeleye practiced as a nurse‑midwife and held academic and community leadership roles in Nigeria, including at Lagos State University, where she contributed to maternal health education, research capacity building, and youth‑centered outreach initiatives.

Fondly known as Jummy, she has been recognized nationally and internationally for her scholarship, including honors from the International Society of Psychiatric‑Mental Health Nurses and the University of South Florida Health. She has published peer‑reviewed articles, served as a journal reviewer, and presented her work at global, national, and regional conferences. Her scholarship reflects her advocacy for youth mental health, maternal well‑being, and the elevation of diverse voices shaping the future of perinatal mental health care.

Dr. Ojeleye earned her Bachelor of Nursing from Obafemi Awolowo University, her Master’s degree from the University of Ibadan, and her PhD from the University of South Florida.
