Picture of Moira Lewitt

Dr Moira Lewitt is a physician who has worked in universities in Australia, Sweden and the UK within joint roles and with strong interdisciplinary approaches. Her career journey has evolved from clinical medicine, as a consultant endocrinologist and Fellow of both the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and Royal College of Physicians (London), and medical research, to focus on higher education as a discipline, as she works to support students and staff as developing teachers and researchers.

In 2009 she joined the University of the West of Scotland as a Senior Lecturer Supporting Innovation in Learning and Teaching. She was awarded a Personal Professorship in 2010. Today, her particular research focus is the development of transformative methodologies, applying these to questions in healthcare and higher education. Committed to lifelong learning, she is currently a doctoral candidate in Philosophy at the University of St Andrews with a project in the philosophy of creativity. She holds Principal Fellowship (Advance HE).
