Professor Mary RenfrewMary Renfrew FRSE is Professor of Mother and Infant Health at the University of Dundee, Scotland. A researcher, educator, and midwife, her career spans over 40 years in the fields of midwifery, maternal and infant health, and infant feeding. Her research has influenced and informed policy and practice across the UK and internationally, and she has advised
governments and international organisations. In recent years, she has been principal investigator for the global Lancet Series on Midwifery and co-author of the WHO/ICM/UNFPA/Unicef report on Strengthening Quality Midwifery Education for Universal Health Coverage 2030, and she led the Future Midwife project for the UK regulator, the Nursing and Midwifery Council, which developed radically new, evidence-informed education standards for all midwives in the UK.
