Madeline Veitch (MSLS) is an academic librarian with an interest in information-seeking behavior and social justice. She had a baby in 2019 and, between the second and fourth month postpartum, sustained eight vertebral fractures resulting from Pregnancy and Lactation Associated Osteoporosis (PLO). In doing research on her own condition, she found there was virtually nothing in the literature on the psychosocial impacts and long-term management of PLO from a holistic perspective. This led her to collaborate with Dr. Susanrachel B. Condon on an in-depth survey of people who have experienced PLO and its complications.
