
Mrs. Louela Villasis Cordova-Acedera, “Love” as she is fondly called by friends and in the workplace is a highly accomplished nurse leader with extensive experience spanning various healthcare and educational settings. With a background in patient care, public health, and nursing education, she has made significant contributions to the field throughout her career.
As a labor and delivery room nurse and emergency room nurse for eight (8) years, she demonstrated exceptional leadership skills in managing high-stress situations and ensuring the delivery of quality patient care. Transitioning into public health and school nursing, she has served as Nurse-in-Charge of the Health and Nutrition Section in Occidental Mindoro, Philippines for six (6) years, where she spearheaded initiatives to improve community health outcomes.
Her commitment to promoting gender equality and development led her to serve as the Regional Gender and Development Technical Officer at the Department of Social Welfare and Development, MIMAROPA Region, Philippines for one (1) year.
In her role as a nurse educator, she has spent seven (7) years in the Philippines and currently serves as a Lecturer in the Midwifery and Maternity Nursing Department for almost eight (8) years in Thailand. Additionally, she holds the position of Chairperson for International Affairs at the Faculty of Nursing, Burapha University, Thailand further contributing to her leadership in promoting global healthcare education and collaboration.
Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to excellence in patient care, education, and advocacy, making her a respected leader in the nursing profession.
