Linda Deys is a midwife and IBCLC of more than 30 years experience, currently working as Clinical Midwife Consultant (Lactation Support) for the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District in NSW, Australia. She is passionate about woman-centred care and the rights of women to have midwifery support irrespective of risk status. She believes women should be supported by midwives across their perinatal journey to make informed choices, including having skin-to-skin at birth and infant feeding, which are not biased by commercial interests, financial status or over-medicalisation. Linda is currently completing her PhD candidature at ACU and looks forward to a future which includes both clinical care and research opportunities.
