
Kusmayra Ambarwati
I am a midwife and midwifery lecturer at the University of Respati Indonesia. I love researching and volunteering activities. Now, I am trusted as the chairwoman of the research division at the Indonesian Breastfeeding Mothers Association. It is a non-profit organization based on a group of breastfeeding mothers to disseminate knowledge and information about breastfeeding and increase the number of breastfeeding mothers in Indonesia. I am also on the Research Standing Committee for Southeast Asia in the International Confederation of Midwives (2018 – 2021). I received some achievements in my research and social activity. In 2018 I was selected as the awardee of the Marrie Goubran Agent of Change Award 2018. I have been selected as a women leader to be featured in Southeast Asia Women as Woman in Health care 2018. This program initiative by the Young Southeast Asia Leader’s Initiative (YSEALI) Women’s Leadership Academy Alumni Network, andbacked by the U.S. Mission to ASEAN and Wedu, a women’s leading non-profit in Asia. I am also active as a reviewer of national and international midwifery journals. Some of my research and collaboration projects have been carried out including with UNICEF Indonesia, the International Baby Food Action Network (IBFAN), Minderoo Foundation Australia etc.
