Karolina Sofia MælandKarolina S. Mæland is a midwife and a PhD-candidate at the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, Bergen. She has previously been working in Liberia, western Africa and is now halfway through her PhD. In her research she is investigating the incidence of perinatal outcomes in immigrant women giving birth in Norway over a time period of 26 years. Immigration is increasing globally and increased knowledge about the reproductive health in immigrant women is important.

The aim of this study was to gain updated knowledge about the incidence of hypertensive disorders in immigrant women giving birth in Norway, during 1990-2016.
