Commonly Known as: Jose
Josephine Staff Nkosi was born, raised, educated, working and living in South Africa in the Mpumalanga Province. Currently working at Mpumalanga College of Nursing as Midwifery Lecturer Graduated in: Diploma in General Nursing in 1986, Midwifery in 1988, in Advanced Midwifery & Neonatal Nursing Science in 1994, Advanced Diploma in Nursing Education in 2003, Bcur (Educ ET Admin) in 2005 Became a midwife, by chance, when the person in charge of the unit she worked in after completing her Diploma in Midwifery in 1988 felt she needed to be disciplined. The place used to allocate nurses who were regarded stubborn was the Labour Ward and they inform the person in charge “take care of that individual” Alas to her it became home, a place to live in. Since then, she never looked back, developed further and became deeply rooted in Midwifery. A staunch supporter and believer of “Respectful Maternity Care” A member of SOMSA (Society of Midwives of South Africa) serving as a Provincial Chairperson representing SOMSA in Mpumalanga Province where she lives and work. Always makes a point not to miss an ICM congress, in Bali she was there carrying the South African flag high.
