Joeri Vermeulen is the head of the midwifery department at Erasmus Brussels University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Belgium and researcher at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), Brussels, Belgium, Department of Public Health. Additionally he is an Executive Board Member of the European Midwives Association and the Belgian Midwives Association. Midwifery education and professionalisation of the midwifery profession are his main research interests.
