Jamie Hanson has a diverse 30-year career spanning clinical practice as a midwife but also in leadership roles and education.  He has held varying positions including management, consultant midwife and senior lecturer for undergraduate and postgraduate education.  His dedication to student midwives learning was evident in developing modules on normality and also preparing them for clinical work through clinical skills training.    

He is currently an associate professor and consultant midwife at Anglia Ruskin University undertaking a research project on Black African Women and access to perinatal mental health services.  He has recently received a Lawrence Walker Award for services to the Black African Community and he is also passionate about Women’s voices being heard to develop maternity services.
