Helen Bedford is Professor of Midwifery at the University of York in England. After an early career in nursing and educational research, Helen registered as a midwife and worked clinically in hospital and community settings and practice development. Helen then followed her passion and applied her qualitative PhD studies by entering midwifery education. During her educational career Helen has undertaken a wide range of educational and leadership roles in Scotland and England. She is a Senior Fellow of Advance HE and a qualified coach. In 2023 Helen was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal College of Midwives.
