Instilling Ambition To Study Midwifery in Teens

Background: The world need midwife now more than ever. In these opportunities, a creative work to campaign midwife has done with training for Little Community Midwives (LCM) aimed to empower communities in focuses to promote exclusive breastfeeding.

Objective: to show the advantages of   LCM in both those purposes to instilling ambition as midwife and community empowerment in enhancing exclusive breastfeeding.

Method: pre and post questioner was used to evaluate LCM training.  Participants are 30 teenagers from 7 villages in Yogyakarta. In-depth interview has done to LCM and pregnant women.

Result:  Statistically significant difference between the mean pre and post-test (-2.400) with p-value 0,000.  LCM have positive interpretation for midwife. A sympathetic visit with creative handmade by LCM becoming a fun reminder to prepare exclusive breast feeding.

Conclusion: LCM built midwife’s ambition. This initiative should be continuously held to strengthen midwife and community empowerment in exclusive breastfeeding program.
