Biography

Istri Bartini, S.Si.T.,MPH is lecturer and the director of Akademi Kebidanan Yogyakarta (Yogyakarta Midwifery Academy) with responsibility for  academic planning, research and development curriculum and strategic learning. She also is a midwife  who work at a private midwifery clinic  where she was supervisor in midwifery services. She has experience to work as a rural midwives in 1997. She is member of Indonesian midwives association.

She developed an interest in natural approaches to midwife care and midwife education after studying Diploma III midwifery and Diploma IV for midwife teacher and a master of public health from Gadjahmada University. Istri Bartini concern in midwife care and capacity building for midwife. Her research in 2005 is about attitude and behavior midwife in exclusive breast feeding and promoting of infant formula milk, in 2006 she research for the pattern of breastfeeding in carrier women, in 2010 she research for the medical error in childbirth by newly graduates, in 2011 she research for an Evaluation of E-Newsletter as Student Field Work Report, in 2012 she research about Family Approach as method in Community Midwifery Practice. In 2013 she research about safety care in midwifery practice at rural area, and recently she has finished a study about partnership between midwives and family planning board to increase family planning at Yogyakarta province.
