I have a Master’s degree in Midwifery and have been a midwife for 12 years. I work in a government run maternity hospital in the city of Khorramabad. I work with high risk women and have been involved in around 800 births, including breech, twins, prolonged labour and dystocia. With increasing experience I have been given greater responsibility and have had less supervision from the gynecologists.
For the past 8 years I have been studying about physiologic birth. My Masters thesis considered the need to reduce episiotomy rates. Last year I attended a four day workshop on Waterbirth and this presentation presents my first waterbirth.
