
Erin Hanlon is currently a PhD Candidate at AUT University, Auckland, New Zealand. As a direct-entry trained homebirth midwife from the US, she has worked in a variety of practice, educational, research and funding roles within the US and New Zealand.
Her MPH focused on equity issues for people with physical impairments and reproductive health screening. Erin’s current research is looking at the changes in New Zealand’s maternity system over the last 30+ years relating to education, practice, governance and funding.
In addition to her PhD, Erin is currently working in health research funding within New Zealand’s largest clinical facility, Auckland Hospital. Her professional memberships include the National Women’s Research Governance, university research ethics committees and Auckland Women’s Health Council.
