Emily Western, originally from New Jersey, is a WHNP/CNM student with a vibrant history in healthcare. Her journey began as a medical/oncology nurse, where she honed her skills in patient care and developed a deep empathy for those undergoing challenging health journeys. Despite finding fulfillment in oncology, Emily’s true passion has always lain within women’s care and the birth world. This passion led her to Phoenix for her current intrapartum semester at Willow Birth Center, renowned for its holistic and compassionate birthing practices, following a transformative experience at a small hospital last fall in Louisiana. Beyond her professional aspirations, Emily is a certified yoga instructor committed to integrating holistic health approaches into care. She believes in the power of offering integrated options to her patients, aiming to facilitate the experiences they envision through a blend of medical and wellness strategies. Her philosophy is rooted in the idea that mental, physical, and emotional wellness are integral to positive childbirth and life experiences. When not immersed in clinic or attending births, Emily enjoys a rich personal life filled with cooking, hiking, pilates, yoga, and traveling with friends and family. These activities not only enrich her life but also deepen her understanding of holistic health, which she seeks to incorporate into her professional practice. Emily’s dedication to women’s health, combined with her diverse interests and background in nursing, positions her as a passionate future provider committed to empowering women through informed, compassionate, and integrated care.
