
Dr. Zepure Samawi is a tenured Full Professor, Fulbright Scholar and served as Associate Dean of the Undergraduate Nursing Program at Saint Xavier University. She has over 35 years teaching experience in the Middle-East and U.S.A. She completed her BSN from Arab Colleges of Medical Professions (Palestine/West Bank), an MSN in Maternal-Child Health from Arizona State University, and a PhD from Widener University. Her areas of teaching expertise include undergraduate Maternal-Child Health, pediatric nursing, nursing research, community nursing, nursing ethics. She continues to lead Nursing Study Abroad course to Italy. Her research interests include health promotion, nursing global studies and its impact on nursing students learning, effect of concept mapping on students critical thinking. She has presented her research at international and national nursing conferences and worked with undergraduate and graduate students to conduct scholarly presentations. Dr. Samawi is a published author and reviewer for national and international referred journals. Additionally, she is an active member with the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetrical and Neonatal Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau, and Nursing Society of Pediatric Nursing. She assumed leadership positions at the Society of Pediatric Nursing. Her nursing career includes OB, Pediatrics and Community.
