
Dr. Isabella Garti is an early career midwifery researcher holding a Ph.D. in midwifery from Charles Darwin University in Australia. With over 12 years of midwifery experience, she has served as an educator and researcher in Ghana. She holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in nursing from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, and is an alumna of the Korle Bu Nursing and Midwifery Training School and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. Isabella is a foundation fellow of the Ghana College of Nurses and Midwives and a member of the Ghana Registered Midwives Association. Dr. Garti’s research interests predominantly focus on maternal healthcare in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), with her extensive experience in Ghana serving as a cornerstone in her dedication to addressing the unique challenges faced by women and healthcare providers in such settings. Her Ph.D. research focused on enhancing midwifery care for women with preeclampsia, with most of her research outputs focusing on nursing and midwifery education.
