Ayele Geleto Bali (PhD) is an Executive Dean Research Fellow at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Deakin University in Australia. He received a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the University of Gondar in Ethiopia (2007), a Master of Public Health from Haramaya University in Ethiopia (2013), and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Reproductive Medicine from The University of Newcastle in Australia (2021). Doctor Ayele is currently working for Deakin University as a postdoctoral researcher. He is a member of the Institute for Health Transformation at Deakin University. He is also a member of the Perinatal Society of Australia and New Zealand and the Ethiopian Public Health Association. He is an academic journal editor for BMC Public Health. He facilitated many presentations for professional scientific conferences.
Doctor Ayele’s research focus is maternal and women’s health with a particular interest in the health needs and experiences of access to maternity care among vulnerable groups in the community, such as migrant and refugee women. He has published 33 articles in peer-reviewed journals in the field and attended several national and international scientific conferences. Doctor Ayele has experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses. He has been conferred many awards nationally and internationally. The most prestigious awards are the Young Researchers Award of the Public Health Officers of Ethiopia (2016), a full PhD scholarship at The University of Newcastle in Australia (2017), and a prestigious Alfred Deakin Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at Deakin University in Australia.
