Anna Fielder is a senior lecturer in the Midwifery Department at Te Wānanga Aronui o Tāmaki Makau Rau Auckland University of Technology (AUT). Anna has worked as a midwife in the UK and is now Postgraduate and Research Coordinator in the AUT Midwifery Department. Much of Anna’s research and teaching focuses upon the ways in which social and economic dynamics influence childbearing and the provision of midwifery care, and upon challenging inequity in those contexts. Anna’s first book ‘Going Into Labour: Childbirth in Capitalism’ was published by Pluto Press in 2024.
