We are pleased to announce the Keynote Speakers for Virtual International Day of the Midwife 2018. The keynote speakers were selected to meet our goal of global representation for the VIDM 10 year anniversary. Mission accomplished!

Susan Stone: President, Frontier Nursing University: President-Elect of the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM)

Karen Guilliland: Chief Executive, New Zealand College of Midwives

Jemima Dennis-Antwi: President, Ghana College of Nurses and Midwives

Sarah Stewart: Founder, VIDM; Midwifery Adviser and Manager, Policy and Professional Practice Unit, Australian College of Midwives

VIDM facilitators are the foundation of our success. We simply could not do what we do without the support of these outstanding volunteers. The call for facilitators closes 10 March 2018. Sign up now!

What does a VIDM facilitator do?

  • Before the conference facilitators work with conference presenters, helping them to use the webconferencing technology to enhance their presentation
  • During the conference facilitators moderate the speaker’s session, keeping time and providing space for audience questions and discussions

Each facilitator works with the guidance of a session moderator, Lorraine.VIDM2013(1)assisting before and during the conference. Training is provided. Moderator positions are available for experienced VIDM facilitators.

Call for Abstracts Extended!

The call for presentation abstracts is extended until 15 February 2018.

We have extended the deadline by 2 weeks — you still have time to submit your presentation abstracts for VIDM 2018. Don’t delay! Get your presentation abstract submitted right away.

Call for Abstracts – extended

VIDM is your chance to share what you are doing with a global midwifery audience. Propose a topic to debate or share an interesting case study. What are you researching? The VIDM community wants to hear about it.

We accept presentations in other languages than English.
