I am an Associate Professor and the Masters Research Coordinator in the School of Midwifery and enjoy teaching and supervising thesis students. Another role is meeting with research active staff and students to discuss ways to shape their research projects or journal submissions. My previous midwifery practice experience has been in largely rural areas with a research interest in the sustainability of a viable rural birth option. In particular, the challenges of managing the distance from specialist care when transfer is needed. Recently, I have been involved with collaborative research projects focused on our student experiences in the midwifery programme. These projects have provided us with ideas for how we can improve aspects of the programme to increase enjoyment and success for our students.
