Eliana MonteforteThe State-Level Advocacy Course for Midwifery in Mexico is a one year advocacy course funded by the MacArthur Foundation and developed by MSH in partnership with UNFPA Mexico, and the Mexico National Safe Motherhood Committee. The virtual and in-person advocacy course is designed for midwives, nurses, doctors and other midwifery advocates committed to strengthening midwifery in Mexico.  The objective of the advocacy course is to build the skills of mid-level health professionals to effectively advocate for programs and policies that integrate midwives into the state and national health systems. Currently, MSH is offering this course to 22 participants from 6 Mexican states, and the course is also available on an open virtual learning platform. During this presentation, MSH will present the methodology, expected results, lessons learned and strategy for project scale-up. Also, we will share photos and quotes, and anecdotes from the participants on their experiences to date.
